Alice M. Feather

Alice M. Feather, 74, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017, at her residence.

She was born June 14, 1942, in Cambria County, daughter of the late Edwin and Alma (McMullen) Yingling. On January 30, 1960, she married Charles L. Feather in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2015, after sharing 55 years of marriage.

Surviving are three children: Patty L., Thomas S. and John M., all of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Wicker; a brother, Thomas; and a close friend, Betty.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Suzanne; two sons: Charles Jr. and Terry L. "Whitey"; a brother, Robert Joseph "Pork"; and a sister, Carol McGarvey.

Alice was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Altoona Chapter 290 Order of the Eastern Star and Jaffa Hillbillies. She enjoyed camping, cooking and baking.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where an OES service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, Pastor Tyler Pepper officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blair County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
