Betty M. (Boyles) Brogden

Betty M. Brogden, 87, Altoona, passed away Sunday morning, April 1, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born February 21, 1931, in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Mildred (Witt) Boyles. She married Richard Z. Brogden on Jan. 21, 1948 in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1985, after sharing 37 years of marriage.

Surviving are three daughters: Vonnie J. Oschea, Connie K. Reed (Roy) and Bonita L. Thompson (Scott), all of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great–grandchildren; a sister, Bertha Patterson of Altoona; and two brothers: George and Randall, both in Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two sons: John F. Sr. and Lonnie R.

She enjoyed music and was great fan of Elvis.

Friends will be received from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. the Reverend Eli Hess officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
