Betty L. Shaw

Betty L. Shaw, 87, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

She was born January 4, 1930, in Altoona, daughter of the late Roy E. and Violet A. (Bookhammer) Shaw.

Surviving are her fiance, David C. Plank; a sister, La Rue V. Ritchey of Altoona; a niece, Joy L. Shultz and husband, Terry, of Altoona; a great-niece, Michele and husband, Michael; four great-nephews: Chuck and wife, Angel, Kevin, Bill and wife, Courtney, and Jason; five great-great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces.

Betty was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a secretary for W.F. Gable Department Store.

She was a member of Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, and she enjoyed her family, reading her Bible and going out to eat.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, immediately followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service, Pastor Cory Dobrowolsky officiating.

Interment will be at Newy Lutheran Cemetery.
