Calvin W. Gibson

Calvin W. Gibson, 71, Altoona, died Thursday, August 25, 2016, at his residence.

He was born July 2, 1945, in Altoona, son of the late Calvin H. and Dorothy A. (Weber) Gibson.

Surviving are three daughters: Penny Johnson (Bruce), Shelly Stiffler (Carl) and Kim Gibson; a son, Kevin Gibson; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, two sisters: Joyce B. McCarthy and Claudia Bleicher; two brothers: Raymond A. and Donald E. Gibson

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol E. Hoover.

Calvin was a 1964 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired as a Blair County constable and notary. He enjoyed fishing, camping and his trucks.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 26, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, the Rev. Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
