Carl J. Boland

Carl J. Boland, 88, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

He was born November 29, 1928, in Hollidaysburg, son of the late William H. and Regina (Frank) Boland.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Regina "Jean" (Hoover); a son, Matthew and wife, Nicole, of Duncansville; two grandsons: Eli and Trevor; and a brother, Donald of Hollidaysburg.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret; and four brothers: Larry, Francis, Joseph and Paul.

Carl was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948-52. He was self-employed as a TV repairman, and then he retired as an electronics technician for Letterkenny Army Depot., Chambersburg, after 25 years of service.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, and American Legion Post 516, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed gardening and watching sports.

There will be no public visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. Committal will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
