Darl C. Stiffler

Darl C. Stiffler, 91 of East Freedom, passed away, Tuesday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born April 22, 1926 in East Freedom, son of Edward and Minnie (Smith) Stiffler.

Darl married Shirley M. Adams, October 10, 1952.  She preceded him in death, October 6, 2016 after having shared nearly 64 years of marriage.

Surviving are four daughters:  Darla, Karrie Walter, Penny Hamel, Amy Lepore; three sons:  Daniel, Carl, Darl C. Jr.; seven grandchildren: Sheila, Fallon, Cindy, Shane, Kyle, Nick and Tyler; and three great-grandchildren: Cody Meyers, Josh Bush and Dalton Corle.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Anders.

Darl had been employed by General Refractory's brick yard.  He was a member of Smith Corner Church and a life member of the Duncansville VFW Post.

He was a US Army veteran, WWII, having received various service medals.

Darl enjoyed playing cards and making sauerkraut.

Friends will be received 9-11 am Friday, July 21, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg immediately followed by an 11am funeral service by Pastor David D. McClanahan.  Military honors will be provided by Blair County Veteran's Honor Guard.

Interment will be at Alto Reste Park.
