Earl E. Cochran Jr.

Earl E. Cochran Jr., 85, Graystone Manor at Bellmeade, died Monday morning at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Carson Valley, son of Earl E. Sr. and Dora P. (Hoover) Cochran. He was married to Joann H. (Mickel), and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2015.

Surviving are four sons: Earl III (Katsuko), Kerry (Sharon), Ernest (Robin) and Richard (Tomoko); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Pauline Demsie and Shelby Weyant (James); and a daughter-in-law, Sue.

He was preceded in death by three sons: Bruce, Paul and an infant, Kenneth; and a daughter, Linda Wilkes.

Earl was a 1949 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired as a security officer from Blair County Airport. Prior to that, he worked for PRR and as a baker for A&P. He was a lifelong member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, as well as a Blair County Forest Fire warden. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in a sawmill and the woods.

Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, immediately followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service by Pastor Bradley R. Runkle. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
