Evelyn Marie Reeseman, 82, of Altoona, passed away Sunday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born September 23, 1934 in Altoona, daughter of the late Leroy J. and Anna Faye (Dietch) Hartz.  Evelyn married William L. Reeseman, May 23, 1953.  He preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters:  Jacqueline Russo and husband, Carl; Sandra "Sandy" Reeseman; a son, John Michael, all of Altoona; grandchildren:  Jason Russo (Faith); Typhani Russo; Angela Reeseman-Lopez (Fred); Tori; William Reeseman (Ariana);  and Shawn Reeseman; five great-grandchildren:  Bryden Russo; Caitlyn Maher; Isaac Lopez, Ethan and Spencer; two brothers: Robert Freeman of NY and Donald in Texas; and a sister, Margie Croft of Hollidaysburg.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty; Darietta Nebelski; a brother, Leroy; three sons:  William, Timothy and Joseph; and a great-grandson, Lorenzo Lopez.

Evelyn worked as a waitress at the Altoona Hotel and The Phoenix restaurant.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Evelyn loved animals and rescued many over the years.  She was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious Sunday dinners and homemade fudge.

She was a hard-working, sweet and compassionate woman who lived to help others.  Evelyn was always spreading joy and remained happy despite all of the difficult circumstances that she faced.

Friends will be received 2-5 pm Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service by her family.  Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

Memorial contributions may be given in care of her family.
