George E. "Geno" Taylor, 86, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born February 23, 1930, in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Ernest I. and Mildred (Thompson) Taylor.
Surviving are his companion, Judith Rutheford; two daughters: Carrie Ann Hicks (Donald) and Cynthia J. Billotte (Mike), both of Hollidaysburg; two sons: David E. (Gwen) of Hollidaysburg and Andrew T. (Wendy) of Duncansville; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters: Shirley Drass, Eleanor Mae Conner and Marilyn B. Taylor; and a brother, Donald "Jiggs" Taylor.
He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Geno was a 1948 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean conflict. He retired as a sales executive for New Penn Trucking Co. Prior to that, he worked for Crane Co., Duncansville, for 18 years. He was a member of Altoona Traffic Club, as well as an avid fisherman and hunter.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor John A. Godissart, immediately followed by full military honors by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Leamersville.
