Glen A. Clapper, 80 of Duncansville, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home.

He was born September 22, 1936 in Duncansville son of Russell C. and Edith (Helsel) Clapper.

Glen married Ruth K. Frederick, January 4, 1964 in Carson Valley Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife with whom he shared 53 years of marriage; a daughter, Lori and husband Eric of Duncansville; a son, Brian and wife Michele of Hollidaysburg; and six grandsons:  John, Adam, Zach, Mark, Derek and Jefferson.

Glen was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, class of 1954; Indiana Technical University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering; and received his Master's Degree in Industrial Relations from St. Francis University.

He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Penn Central, retiring from Conrail in 1995 having worked in Quality Control.  Glen also served as auditor for Allegheny Township for 51 years.

He was a member of Berean Baptist Church.

Glen served as President of the Hollidaysburg Community Farm Show.  He was Past President & Secretary/Treasurer of the Blair County Association of Township Elected Officials.

Glen was an avid train enthusiast and enjoyed music and sharing jokes.

Friends will be received 5-8 pm Monday, June 5, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg; and from 9:30 - 10:15 am Tuesday, June 6 at the Berean Baptist Church, followed by a 10:30 am funeral service by Pastor Barry Fry.

Graveside services will be  held at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

Memorials may be given to the Berean Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 800 Kuhn Lane, Duncansville, PA  16635 or the Hollidaysburg Public Library, 1 Furnace Road, Hollidaysburg, PA  16648.
