Helen M. (Leberfinger) Eckley

Helen M. Eckley, 85, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the UPMC Altoona ER.

She was born March 4, 1931, in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Godfrey and Catherine (Steiner) Leberfinger. She was married to John H. "Jack" Eckley, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2016, after having shared 60 years of marriage.

Surviving are a son, William "Bill" Yahner (Sammy) of Altamone Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren: LeAndrea Seiler and Bruce Seiler II; a great-grandson, Brock; three brothers: Robert, Paul and Donald; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline; a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Anna Jean Burns.

Helen was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, and Catholic Daughters of America.

Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Monsignor Stanley B. Carson. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
