Jerome S. Espigh Sr.

April 29, 1932 – Nov. 20, 2016  

Jerome S. Espigh Sr., 84, Duncansville, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona ER.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Herman and Madeline (Kerstetter) Espigh. He was twice married, first to Maureen Shultzaberger, who preceded him in death; then, in 1973, to Catherine E. Stanton, in Bellwood.

Surviving are his wife, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage; two daughters: Lucy (John) and Linda (Clark); a son, Jerry Jr. (Barbara); two stepsons: Richard Stanton Jr. and Edward J. Stanton; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonita.

Jerome was a 1950 graduate of Bellwood Antis High School. He retired as a sheet metal worker with Union 19, Philadelphia.

Jerome was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching and playing football and fishing.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, and from 9 to the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. Jaime G. Olson. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
