Joan L. (Mignot) Davis

Joan L. Davis, 86, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday, August 25, 2016, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born May 1, 1930, in Philipsburg, daughter of the late George and Florence (Nofsker) Mignot. On May 29, 1948, she married Richard C. Davis, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2002, after sharing 54 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Debra Dorazio and Brenda Beam and husband, Robert, all of Altoona; three sons: Richard C. Jr. and wife, Judy, and John M., all of Hollidaysburg, and David A. and wife, Trish, of State College; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathleen; three sisters: Marie, Pearl and Sara; and two brothers: Frank and Charles.

Joan was a social member of American Legion and Allegheny Club, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, baking and playing pinochle.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Father Anthony J. Legarski. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
