John W. Harshberger, 85, Cross Keys, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Duncansville, son of the late George A. and Rose Anna (Madden) Harshberger. He married Anna M. Adamczyk in 1951 in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years; two daughters: Deborah Martin (Jim) of Clearfield and Linda Cramer (John) of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Justin, Jennifer and Cory; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Patty Garman, Toni Prough and Libby Malone, all of Hollidaysburg; and his best friend, Don Stitko.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamey, in 2016.
John retired from PennDOT as a foreman after more than 20 years of service. He then retired from Fullington as a school bus driver for 18 years.
John was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Duncansville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Monsignor Robert Saly officiating. Committal will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
