John E. Wilson, 59, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at his residence.
He was born September 22, 1956, in Altoona, son of John E. and Ethel (Goshorn) Wilson.
Surviving are his mother; his former wife of 21 years, Leslie; a dear friend, Sandy Fluke; a daughter, Avelia Weiner; a son, John W.; two grandchildren: Jayden and Taylor Weiner; and two sisters: Janice and Joan Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, John E. in August, 1985.
John was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, and in 1978, he graduated from Westminster College with a bachelor’s degree in education.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
He worked as a driver for Colours Inc., Altoona.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, a member of Beaverdale Sportsmen’s Associations and a former member of Phoenix Volunteer Fire Co.
At John’s request, there will be no public viewing or funeral service.
