Justin W. Green, 26, of Johnstown, formerly of Duncansville, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at his residence after losing his battle with PTSD. He was born June 3, 1991, in Altoona, son of Bill and Karen (Helsel) Green.
He married his high school sweetheart, Lindsay E. Sill in 2013.
Surviving are: his wife of 5 years; his parents of Carson Valley; and his brother, Jeremy of Carson Valley. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Justin was a 2009 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, a 2013 graduate of Mt. Aloysius, and a 2014 graduate of the Johnstown Police Academy, where he graduated at the top of his class.
It was his childhood dream to become a police officer. He was a patrolman for Johnstown Police Department, where he was inducted into the Police and Fireman’s Insurance Asso. Hero’s Hall of Fame for his actions during a house fire. Justin was an active member of the FOP Flood City Lodge.
He enjoyed Airsoft and gaming with his friends, riding his motorcycle, and training in firearms.
Justin suffered from PTSD from a work-related incident and was undergoing counseling.
Friends will be received from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday, March 15, 2018, and 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, March 16 at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
