Louis E. Burket

Louis E. Burket, 85, formerly of New Enterprise, died Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2018, at Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home.

He was born February 5, 1933, in Newry, son of the late Ralph and Marguerite (Harker) Burket. He married Betty E. Kagarise, and she preceded him in death in September 1987.

He is survived by two sons: Wesley L. of Hollidaysburg and Brandon R. (Kathy) of Burlington, W.Va.

He graduated from Replogle High School, Class of 1951. He retired as a truck driver from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry.

Friends will be received from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry, Father Allen P. Zeth celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
