Martha J. "Marty" Lindsey 88 of Duncansville, passed from this life to the next on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born December 12, 1928 in Newry, daughter of the late Homer and Ada (Clark) Glunt.  Marty married Paul R. Lindsey Sr. November 10, 1944 in Paris, Texas.  He preceded her in death April 13, 2013 after having shared 68 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Kim E. Evans and husband, William; a son, P. Roger Jr. and wife Donna, all of Duncansville; three loving grandchildren:  Matthew Evans and wife, Danielle; Tessa Lindsey; Tanya Glass and husband, Chris; five great-grandchildren:  Sage, Reese and Cayden Evans; Jared and Bryce Glass.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren:  Misti Evans and Jared Lindsey; a close friend and sister-in-law, Kate; and the following siblings:  James, Dorothy Weaver, Mary King, John, Homer "Jiggs", Grace Culler, William "Bill", Robert "Bob", Helen Richards, Patricia "Chiefie" Wertz, and Stella "Betty" Souders.

Marty was a homemaker, care-giver, and a seamstress for ten years.  She was a member of Hicks Memorial United Methodist Church, Duncansville.

Marty was the matriarch of the family.  She loved to cook and hosted many family gatherings.  She enjoyed her grandchildren; pitching horseshoes, bowling and playing Pinochle.  Marty hosted Blair County Horseshoe Golden Games and was twice State champion of the National Horseshoe Pitching Association.

At Marty's request, there will be no viewing.  Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Friday, August 18, 2017 at Hicks Memorial United Methodist Church and 10-11 am Saturday, August 19th at the church immediately followed by an 11 am Celebration of Life Service, Pastor Rich Morris officiating.  Interment will be at Alto Reste Park.

Memorials may be given to the Central PA Humane Society, E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA  16602.
