Martha E. Mills, 91, died Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

She was born September 3, 1926, in Juniata, daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Kreps) Whitstine. On September 18, 1947, she married Raymond E. Mills in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2015, after sharing 68 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Robyn Fatula-Confer of Altoona and Molly (Tom) McCaffrey of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Martha was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone for eight years, and as a teacher's aide for the Hollidaysburg Area School District.

She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for the fifth and six grades. She was also a member of the Kings Daughters Sunday school class, and for 15 years, she volunteered with the Ecumenical council, teaching religion to special needs children. While a resident at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, she participated in the bell choir. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017, at Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, the Reverend Dr. John Godissart officiating. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
