Mary T. Burket, 106, of Hollidaysburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday afternoon at her home.
She was born in Lincolnshire, England, January 7, 1912, daughter of the late Cecil and Elizabeth (Clarkson) Rice. Mary married David E. Burket, March 28, 1944 in London. He preceded her in death September 23, 1989 after having shared 45 years of marriage.
Surviving are three daughters: Sandra L. Burket, Sherian Burket and Marie Nale, all of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren: Becky, Kristy, Lesly, David, Vicki, Christopher and Rachel; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a niece, Wendy, two great-nieces: Sara and Kim and a great-great nephew, Alex, all of York, England.
Mary graduated from high school as well as nanny school and mid-wife instruction. She had been a baker for the former Family Host Cafeteria.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church where she belonged to STARS ladies group, in charge of the kitchen during VBS and was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting; and playing games and cards.
Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Grace Bible Church, and from 10 am to the 11am funeral service, Wednesday, March 28th, Pastor Daren Ritchey and Gary Zimmerman, officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
