Rodney B. Estep Sr., 60, East Freedom, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018.
He was born October 6, 1957, in Altoona, and worked as an Emergency Medical Services worker for the Hollidaysburg Ambulance Service. He also was a lifetime member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department and Geeseytown Volunteer Fire Department.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a firefighter’s memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow, with military honors performed by the Blair County Honor Guard.
Below are Rodney’s final requests to his friends:
“Unfortunately, I did not make my goal to live until 75. I left this world at the age of 60, in the arms of my loving wife. Don’t fret over me as I have known love and life well beyond my years, surrounded by my amazing family.
My last request is that each of my friends and family join my loved ones at a memorial service at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
Please do not tell my family you are sorry for the loss of me. Rather, tell them why you are happy to have known me.
I’ll see you later. Love always, Senior.”
