Sam H. Baughman

Sam H. Baughman, 81 of Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, June 15, 2017 in Cresson.

He was born May 21, 1936 in Martinsburg, PA, son of the late Robert and Olive (Brown) Baughman.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 58 years, Irene L. (Smith); a daughter, Stephanie A. Baughman; two sons: Samuel H, II; Michael William; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two sisters: Gail Wise and Donna; two favorite nieces and nephew: Candy Mowery; Sandy McMaster and  Donald Kennedy II.

Sam was a 1954 graduate of Bean Hill High School, Martinsburg.  He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Japan during the Korean Conflict.

Sam retired from Sproul Brick Yard; and was a self-employed carpenter.

He attended Smith Corner Independent Church.

Sam was a private pilot and enjoyed his dog, Dukey.

Friends will be received 2-4 pm Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg immediately followed by a 4 pm funeral service by Pastor David D. McClanahan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Central PA Humane Society.
