Vance C. Bolan

Vance C. Bolan, 80, Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at his residence.

He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Homer C. and Theo (Beard) Bolan. He married Andrea Huston in 1989 at Highland Hall, Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years; two daughters: Lisa K. Bolan and Amy L. Adamo and husband, Troy; a stepdaughter, Dawn Weigand and wife, Lisa; a stepson, Gregory Weigand and wife Deborah; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Lee C. Bolan.

Vance was a graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He was a retired teacher from New Cumberland School district.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg; the American Wine Society; Friends of Hollidaysburg Public Library; and he was a volunteer for UPMC Altoona and Pro-Care.

Vance enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, watching Penn State Football and all professional Pittsburgh sports teams.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. Committal will be held at New St. Mary Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
