Viola F. (Detwiler) Keagy
January 19, 1929 ~ October 14, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years OldViola F. (Detwiler) Keagy, 87, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Duncansville, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born January 19, 1929, in Henry, W.Va., daughter of Clayton and Blanche (Teeter) Detwiler. In 1949, she married Charles S. Keagy in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years; a daughter, Charlene O'Dellick and husband, Tom, of New Enterprise; three sons: Gary of Altoona, David of Duncansville and Allen and wife, Colleen, of Lilly; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Audrey Welsh of Williamsburg and Helen Carusso in Florida; and two brothers: Malcolm Detwiler of Tyrone and Clayton Detwiler in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald, in 2007 and daughter in law, Denise.
Viola was a member of St. John's Reformed Church and a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 456. She enjoyed doing crafts, baking and listening to music.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., the Reverend Jerry Hayward officiating.
Interment will be at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
