William E. Taylor

William E. "Bill" Taylor, 62, Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona due to cancer as a result of a lifetime of smoking.

He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late George and Virginia (Richards) Taylor. On Oct. 8, 1977, he married Diane P. Erb.

Surviving are his wife with whom he shared 39 years of marriage; a daughter, Laura J.; two sons: Shawn W. and Brian J.; three grandsons: Sherman Taylor and Zack and Mason Wyles; two sisters: Kathy Kelly and Connie (Bill) Wall; a brother, Robert (Helen); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barb; and a brother, Richard.

Bill retired from Maxwell Transit. Prior to that, he had worked as a school bus driver for Fullington and as a supervisor at James Industries, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed working with his computer.

At Bill's request, there will be no public viewing or service. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
