Wilmer D. Barner

Wilmer D. Barner, 88 of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday, May 12th at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

He was born June 17, 1928 in Altoona, son of the late Dervin and Katie (Seaman) Barner.

Wilmer married Mary Jane Lane who preceded him in death October 8, 2002.

Surviving are three sons:  Ronald; Carl and wife Colleen; James and wife, Terri; and two grandsons:  Zachary and Jacob.  Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers:  George and Glen.

Wilmer was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1947.  He retired from Motor Freight Express as a truck driver.

He liked to go bowling with his league friends; loved watching Westerns, sitting on his porch watching the deer, and reading the A Section of the Altoona Mirror.

At Wilmer's request there will be no viewing or funeral service.  A private family gathering will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.
