Robert C. Johnson III, 80, of Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert C. Jr. and L. Martha (VanOrman) Johnson. He married Denise Baker, whom he adored, in 1992.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years; three daughters: Christine Johnson, Stephanie Kuhn, and Amanda Massaro and husband Matthew, all of Altoona; a son, Daniel Vasil and wife Megan, of Hollidaysburg; and eight grandchildren: Jack, Wyatt, Joslyn, Avalyn, Malakhi, Azalia, Addison, and Liam.
He was preceded in death by a sister, M. Joyce Kensinger.
Bob graduated from Altoona High School in 1961, then PSU with a BS in Accounting and Engineering, then earned his MBA in Business and Accounting.
He served in the USAF during Vietnam and retired as proprietor of Johnson Auto Spring Co.
Bob was Past Master of Mountain Lodge No. 281 F&AM, a member of AASR Valley of Altoona and the Jaffa Shriners.
He enjoyed being a Mason, was an avid wing hunter, and had a deep love for training and hunting with his bird dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
Friends will be received from 10am to 12 noon Saturday April 27, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon, with Rev. Dr. John A. Godissart officiating. A Masonic Memorial Service and full Military Honors will follow the funeral service.
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
