Betty K. Dewald, 75, Altoona, died Monday, August 20, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born July 16, 1943, in Cross Keys, daughter of the late Blaine S. and Betty M. (Blough) Clapper.
She married Allan W. Dewald on December 2, 1961. He preceded her in death February 13, 1994 after sharing 32 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Akins and husband, Dion; two sons: Wayne A. and William A. and wife, M'lita; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine F. Felton and husband, William; and a brother, Blaine E. and wife, Sharon.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda; two brothers: Arthur and William.
She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, class of 1961.
Betty volunteered caring for the elderly and mentally challenged children. She was a life long member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
