Doris Jean Jenkins

Doris Jean Jenkins, 84, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James Henry and Clarabell (Manges) Yon. She married Theodore E. Jenkins, who died in December 1985, after having shared 33 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Patti Dukeman (Charles Sr.); three sons: Theodore E. Jr. and companion, Mary, Larry A. and Stephen L., all of Altoona; five grandchildren: Carrie, Timothy, Shawn, Kate and Carly; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia McGinnis, of Altoona, the last surviving of 16 siblings.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Jean, in May 1988.

Doris was a caregiver and Senior Companion. She formerly attended Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, Altoona. She enjoyed her family and friends, cooking and crafts.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Jaime G. Olson. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
