E. Marlene Ling, 86, Altoona, died Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born October 26, 1931, in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul M. and Ethel M. (Keith) Kibler. She married Paul K. Ling on August 19, 1961, in Winchester, Va., and he died on her birthday, Oct. 26, 1993, after sharing 32 years of marriage.
Surviving are two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
Marlene was a graduate of Gallitzin High School, Class of 1949, and she retired as a secretary from Sylvania.
She was a member of Altoona Chapter 290 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1990, and was a Star Point Martha; a past high priestess of Jobel Court No. 11 Ladies Oriental Shrine of America; and The Daughters of the Nile. Marlene was also a former member of Juniata Presbyterian Church.
When she owned her own home, she enjoyed her pet dogs, Tiny and Cinnamon, and playing golf and cards.
Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. following a funeral service Vicar Kathleen L. Stump officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
