Edith K. Young, 97, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Frederick W. and Melvina (Hoering) Kruger. She married John R. Young III and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1984.
Surviving are two daughters: Nancy Klingensmith (Lee) and Debra McLaughlin (Tom); three sons: John (Melissa), Timothy (Cheryl) and James (Patti); 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Lapp; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Klingensmith.
Edith graduated from Olney High School, Philadelphia, class of 1939. She was a piano teacher and a librarian at the Franklin Public Library.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Franklin.
Edith enjoyed card ministry, playing pinochle and was a member of the Presbyterian Village Wii Bowling League.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Garden, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's memory may be made to the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg or First Baptist Church, Franklin.
