Esther M. (Brubaker) Cramer

Esther M. Cramer, 83, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday morning, December 30, 2017, at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born September 2, 1934, in Woodbury, daughter of the late Lloyd and Marjorie (Bowser) Brubaker. She married John L. Cramer Jr. on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1953, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2003, after having shared 50 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Catherine “Cathy” M. Cramer; four sons: John L. III and wife, Linda, Sonny N., Kevin W. and Joe R., all of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Cory and wife, Breanna, and Sean; a great-grandson, Landon; a brother, Galen and wife, Martha, of Goshen, Ind.; and two sisters: Kay Brubaker and Mary Berkheimer and husband, Donald, all of Hollidaysburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor McCleary.

Esther was a 1952 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was employed as a private contractor for Appalachia IU8, serving as a driver of school students for more than 20 years.

Esther was a member of Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed her family, fishing, camping and going to auctions.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, and from 10:00 to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday at Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, Pastor Marlys Hershberger officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren.
