Ethel A. (Neely) Onkst

Ethel A. (Neely) Onkst, 99, of Duncansville, formerly of Robesonia, passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills. She was born at home in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Samuel M. and Ada (Grove) Neely. She married Cloyd Onkst in 1937, he preceded her in death in 1985.

Surviving are two daughters: Patricia Shelow and husband Wayne of Robesonia, and Joan Balthaser of Hamburg; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Blyler of Gettysburg; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Onkst of Hollidaysburg.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie L. Plemper, a son, Robert H. Onkst, and a grandson, Robert W. Shelow.

She retired from Valley Forge Flag Co. as a star trimmer.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 pm.  Interment at Presbyterian Cemetery.
