G. Louise (Estep) Hoover, 95, Carson Valley, died Tuesday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Florence (Estep) Gottshall. She married Donald F. Hoover Sr. in 1943, and he preceded her in death in 2007 after 64 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Petre and husband, Rufus, of Carson Valley; a son, Donald F. Jr. and wife, Jane, of Denver, Pa.; 13 grandchildren: Christopher, Susan, Jennifer, Courtney, Clifford, Benjamin, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Aaron, Vanessa, Hannah, Ariana and Ariella; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Shroyer in South Carolina; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Hoover.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E., in 2006
Louise graduated from Altoona High School in 1941. She worked at Butterick Co. Inc. after working at the Rationing Board during WWII.
She was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school, directed the choir and was the youth director.
Louise enjoyed watching sports and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
