Herbert F. Shoenfelt, 98, Duncansville, died Wednesday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
He was born in Fredericksburg, son of the late Homer W. and Blanche E. (Fouse) Shoenfelt. He married Dorothy Fonner in 1949, and she preceded him in death in 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna M. Launtz and husband, Gary, of Hollidaysburg; a son, Mark L. of Duncansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott, in 1990.
Herb graduated from Altoona High School in 1939. He served with the 102nd Ozark Infantry Division in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was self-employed in plumbing and heating. He was a 50+ year member of the Hollidaysburg Lodge 220 F&AM, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Chief Logan Forest 131 and the Jaffa Shrine, where he was a Greeter and Roadrunner.
Herb enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and watching television.
Friends will be received from noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Bowman officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg
