Irvin W. Shawley Jr.

Irvin W. Shawley Jr., 88, Hollidaysburg, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Irvin W. Sr. and Ruhama (Spahn) Shawley. He married Judith Stombaugh in 1957.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years; two sons: David I. and wife, Deb, in Illinois and Michael W. and wife, Staci, of New Enterprise; and four grandchildren: Hope, Joy, Bethany and Aaron.

He was a 1949 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from Valley Rural Electric in Huntingdon after 40 years of service. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus.

Irvin enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities and spending time with his grandchildren.

At Irvin’s request, all services are private. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
