Jean M. (Dougherty) Reese

Jean M. Reese, 80 of Duncansville, formerly of Lilly, passed away Monday at UPMC, Altoona.

She was born February 21, 1937 in Lilly, daughter of the late Bernard ("Jibo") and Dolores (McCarthy) Dougherty.  In 1956 in Wilmore, PA she married Robert D. Reese, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters:  Kathleen Hermann of SC; Tara Reese-Festa and husband, Tony of Plant City, FL; three sons:  Robert W. of WI; David J. and wife, Kelly of Duncansville, Erik J. and wife, Susan of Pittsburgh; ten grandchildren:  Erik, Reese, Kyle, Connor, Ethan, Zoe, Kelsey, Caden, Caitlyn and Christian; and three great-greatgrandchildren:  Alayna, Eliott and Hailee.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gail Covollo; two brothers:  Thomas and Bill, and a nephew, Eugene Dougherty.

Jean was a 1956 graduate of Lilly Washington High School, and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Johnstown.  She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Jean was a former member of St. Brigids, Lilly.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Friends will be received 10 am to 12 Noon, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg immediately followed by a Funeral Liturgy by Deacon Charles Ahearn.  Committal at New St. Mary Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
