Jeremy J. Berkherimer

Jeremy J. Berkheimer, 33 of Altoona, passed away May 30, 2017, unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Altoona, son of Kenneth R. and Susan (Walters) Berkheimer.

Jeremy is survived by his father and step-mother, Vicki of Hollidaysburg; his mother Susan Powers and husband David of Martinsburg; a brother, Joshua and wife Amanda of Hollidaysburg; two step-brothers:  Andrew Kaehler and wife Sasha of Duncansville; Dylan Kaehler of Hollidaysburg and a step-sister, Melisa Barclay and husband Joshua of Ohio.

Jeremy was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School, class of 2001.

He was a 100% disabled veteran from his military service.  Jeremy was a Sgt. with the US Army infantry, Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006. He was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Jeremy enjoyed kayaking.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg.  Full military honors will be provided by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
