John R. Brehm Jr., 63, Hollidaysburg, died Monday evening, June 19, 2017 at his residence.

He was born January 13, 1954, in Beaver County, son of the late John R. Sr. and Anna M. (Jaros) Brehm. On September 27, 1973, he married Jane L. Black at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife with whom he shared 43 years of marriage; two sons: Shane J. (Amy) of East Freedom and John R. III (Nicole) of Altoona; two grandchildren: Lincoln and Camille and a grandson expected in August; and two sisters: Christine (Daniel) Rubine and Lou Ann (Gary) Craig, all of Altoona.

John was a 1971 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a driver for Yellow Freight Trucking after 25 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, camping with his friends and was a life member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company, Hollidaysburg.

Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, Deacon Charles R. Ahearn officiating. Military honors will be provided by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Committal will be at New St. Mary Cemetery.
