John T. Madden, 70, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at his residence as a result of a fall. He was born February 24, 1948, in Altoona, son of the late John P. and Tressie F. (Butterbaugh) Madden. He married Gayle M. Luke in 1967.
Surviving are Gayle Madden of Hollidaysburg; daughters: Gayle Johnson (Scott) of Altoona, Tiffany Gee (Chris) of Carlisle, Heather Bert (Brad) and Jacqueline Rossman (Paul), both of Hollidaysburg. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren: Nicola, Whitney, Jade, Jessica, Dylan, Trevor, Brennon, Kyrstin, Torrey, Reagan, Aubrey, Tucker, and Tanner; and a great-grandson, Thomas; and a sister Katherine Jaguars of Hollidaysburg.
John was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He helped operate John P. Madden Boiler & Welding Inc., then he started Madden Energy Management Co. Inc. from which he retired in 2013.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and travelling.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating.
