Lawrence A. “Shorty” Hann Jr., 81, Lakemont, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Lakemont, son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Mildred Pauline (Blake) Hann. He married Nancy Lovell Pier in 2001.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years; a son, Lawrence A. “Jake” III and wife, Jeanna; three stepchildren: Cindy Kovaloski and husband, Frank, Cheri Ott and husband, Ron, and Andy Pier and wife, Lori; a grandson, Jacob; many step grandchildren; three sisters: Norma, Carole and Judy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five siblings: Dorothy, Nancy, Sally, Ed and John.
Shorty attended Hollidaysburg High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Berwind-White after 30 years service as a welder.
Shorty enjoyed retirement with his wife, especially searching for antiques and sitting on the porch swing enjoying the sunshine, together.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday.
