Lynn W. Wesner, 91, East Freedom, is now sheltered in the arms of Jesus. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer early Wednesday morning at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was born in Spangler, son of the late Clarence Ray and Agnes (Green) Wesner. He married Darlene Smith on Sept. 14, 1983.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene; his son: Robert (Melissa); three grandchildren: Brian, Brandon, and Holly; a great-grandchild, Jayme; a brother, Lawrence; and a niece, Ray Cirell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lynn C.; and two sisters: Cirrell Johnson and Lois Brown.
Lynn retired from Warnaco Sportswear after 40 years of service. He also co-owned and operated Wesner's Claybsurg Manor Inc. and a domiciliary care home with his wife for over 30 years.
He enjoyed hunting in Canada with his son and friends. His hobbies included cooking and baking. He also restored and collected guns. In addition, he was a baseball enthusiast and was a Chicago Cubs fan for over 50 years. Most of all, he enjoyed serving the Lord with Pastor Billy Aurandt in the chapel at Wesner's Manor, for over 18 years.
The family would like to thank Grane Hospice Agency, who were wonderful caregivers to Lynn.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, Aug 23, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00pm. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
