Marian J. Kauffman

Marian J. Kauffman, 88, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday morning, November 26, 2017, at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born May 21, 1929, in Altoona, daughter of the late Guy C. and Lena (Dooley) Fleck. She married Howard Paul Kauffman on August 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2001 after sharing 53 years of marriage together.

Surviving is a daughter, Paula K. Kauffman of Altoona.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1947 and studied sacred music at Juniata College.

Marian was an organist, choir director and she gave private organ and piano lessons for most of her life.  She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Duncansville. She served as Worthy Matron of Delphi Chapter No. 65, Order of the Eastern Star in 1969 and she was a former member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Friends will be received from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Duncansville, the Reverend Jaime G. Olson and Vicar Kathleen L. Stump officiating. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1200 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, PA 16635 or to Masonic Children’s Home, 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
