Marjorie A. “Margie” (Kennedy) Altmanshofer, 74, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at her residence.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Karl H. and Anna M. (Eberling) Kennedy. She married Richard A. Altmanshofer in 1964
Surviving are her husband of 54 years; a son, Brent A. and wife Royellen of Hollidaysburg; and two granddaughters: Nicole Kidd (Amber) of Altoona and Amber Weber (Brandon) of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Kennedy in 2009
She was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School, and a 1986 graduate of St. Francis University with an ABA. She retired from the PA Department of L&I in 1996 after 30 years of service as a tax agent. Through Margie’s efforts, more women were hired and promoted with the Bureau of Employment Security.
Margie enjoyed playing the piano, Sudoku puzzles, crocheting, cooking, and entertaining friends. She treasured time spent with family and friends and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. She often said, “Dying is just the first start of living.”
Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a service celebrating her life will follow at 7:00 p.m., Pastor Kathy Colebank officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
