Martha I. (Glass) Tate, 93, Duncansville, died Saturday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Fredericksburg, daughter of the late Harvey
and Grace (Baughman) Glass. She first married Donald E. Weitzel Sr. in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1963. She then married Robert B. Tate, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are a son, Donald E. Weitzel and wife, Diane, of Hollidaysburg; two grandchildren: Jennifer and Jeffrey (Sara); two great-grandchildren: Laurel and Landon; three sisters: Betty Creps of Roaring Spring, Mary Lou Dollar of Bedford and Ethel Walker in Florida; a brother-in-law, William Walter; two sisters-in-law: Doris Hollingshead and Nancy Slippey; and beloved friends and neighbors, Jon and Ruth Ann Lykens.
She was preceded in death by a son, John C., in 2009; a sister Ruth C. Frederick; and four brothers: John, Donald, Ronald and Robert.
She graduated with 52 classmates in 1942 from Morrison Cove High School and retired from Warnaco. She was a member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Martha enjoyed crafts, needlework and ceramics.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m until noon Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at noon, Pastor Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
