Marvin A. Blazer Sr., 83, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born December 13, 1934, in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Homer and Hilda (Helsel) Blazer. He married Kathryn L. Barroner on October 28, 1955, in Winchester, Va., and she preceded him in death on October 13, 1989, after sharing nearly 34 years of marriage.
Surviving are three children: Kim Berg and husband, Leo and Marvin A. Jr., all of Duncansville, and Jeffrey of Ebensburg; a sister, Judy DeBarlome; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Daniel.
Marvin graduated from Hollidaysburg Senior High School, Class of 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1999 from the maintenance department at Valley View Nursing Home. He was previously employed by Sylvania.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, the Reverend Dr. David Ervine officiating. Interment will be at Geeseytown Cemetery.
