Nancy Kay Slippey, 78, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ralph and Mona (Burns) Tate. She married Daniel Lee Slippey on July 2, 1960, at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1979, after sharing 19 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Beth Ann Lockard and husband, Doug, of Hollidaysburg; a son, Lee Slippey and wife, Debbie, of Duncansville; four grandchildren: Danielle, Graham (Rachael), Mark and Sherri; two great-gransons: Hudson and Hayden; a number of nieces and nephews; and several special people in her life: Jamie, Robert and Carley.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert and Ralph; and two sisters: Ruth McIntyre and Ila Gearhart.
Nancy was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, class of 1959. She was the former co-owner of Daniel L. Slippey Rubbish Removal, a homemaker and nanny.
She was a life member of the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Nancy enjoyed her family and friends, talking on the phone and playing games.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, Pastor Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
