Paula Yerty Wirfel Obituary
Paula Jayne Yerty Wirfel, Imler, died Thursday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Carl W. and Ruth E. (Knipple) Yerty. She married Kurt Wirfel on May 20, 2006.
Surviving are her husband of 13 years; two sons: Joel (Kelly) Jones and Benjamin (Michelle) Casto-Yerty, both in Iowa; four grandchildren: Bennett, Aria, Creed and Victor; two brothers: Rod (Vicki) Yerty of Roaring Spring and Carl Dwayne (Jane) Yerty of Altoona; and two sisters by choice: Tina M. Yerty and Deborah Stehley-Snyder.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jay in 2000.
Paula received her Master's degree in linguistics. She retired as a professor from Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa.
She was a member of Schum United Methodist Church, Altoona.
Paula enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crafts, reading and cooking
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
