Robert E. Heininger

Robert E. Heininger, 83, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness.

He was born at home in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Robert E. and Roberta (Speidel) Heininger.

He married Marilyn Nash in 1954. Surviving are his wife of 65 years; three children: Jennifer Bice of Duncansville, Robert E. Jr. and wife, Tina, of Brooks Mills and Daniel J. and wife, Kristine, of Duncansville; a sister, Janice Farber; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and brothers: Ronald in Ohio, Richard of Hollidaysburg, Rodney of Dauphin, Steven Murray and William Murray Jr.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Eli Garrett.

Robert attended Hollidaysburg High School and retired from PennDOT after 31 years service as a highway maintenance foreman. He attended First Baptist Church, Hollidaysburg. Robert enjoyed raising show bantams, pigeons, and hunting. He was also an animal lover.

Friends will be received from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Janury 15, 2020, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m.

Interment will be at New Canoe Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at alzfdn.org.
