Robert E. "Joe" Zeek

Robert E. "Joe" Zeek, 87, Hollidaysburg, died Friday morning, September 1, 2017, at his residence.

He was born August 28, 1930, in Hollidaysburg, son of the late John J. and Elizabeth G. (Berkheimer) Zeek. On March 31, 1966, he married Mildred Darlene Blackstone in Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Mary Capotosti, Cindy Capotosti and her daughter,  Elizabeth Seneca, and David, Patty Ann Joy, Tom and Sally Zeek.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie M. Weaver; and two brothers: Michael G. "Pat" and John S. "Hank" Zeek.

Joe worked for the former Zeek's Towing and Auto Service, Hollidaysburg. He was a life member of Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a bargain shopper and hanging out with his buddies at Hollidaysburg Auto Parts.

Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held immediately at 11:00 a.m., the Reverend Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
